What Causes Pain In The Left Thumb Joint And Upper Right Arm?

I am a legal secretary - have been for 36 years. I have been experiencing pain in my left thumb joint and pain in my upper right arm (above my elbow) and some numbness in my hands. I was wondering if there as any kind of glove that would help. Sometimes the pain radiates up my upper arm to my shoulder.
