What Causes Pain In The Left Upper Arm?

A Male around 58 in age left arm upper arm is having pain. It is tender to touch and I feel a hard knot it also hurts to raise his arm. It has been bothering him months and has gotten worse. As long as he is not stretching it out reach or pick up something he is fine.

Hi it may due rotator cuff stiffness or stiffness of muscle around shoulder joint region so please consult once orthopaedic surgeon for management and follow up
