General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

The pain in leg following a lumbar sign surgery can be due to multiple factors as:
- Tissue edema at the operated part of lumbar spine causing nerve compression
- Rejuvenation process going on at nerve terminals
- Ligament or muscle spasm at lower back or hip level

To evaluate the nerve damage, it requires a detailed history of symptoms of pre surgery status and its comparison with current situation; latest MRI scan with clinical co relation. Kindly discuss the issue with your treating spine surgeon, who will guide you best regarding the future course of action after thorough clinical assessment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
