What Causes Pain In The Lower Back And Hip When Diagnosed With Arthritis?

I have been treated for lower back, hip pain. Ive been to a orthopedic & now seeing pain management doctor. I was told in the beginning of treatment I have slight arthritis & now being told pain is due to arthritis. Very frustrated & unable to walk short distances. Who should I see to at least get a diagnosis?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

You have a history of RA & also suffer from lower back pain that radiates to the hip. It looks like Sciatica, sciatic nerve causes pain in the back & pain radiates to the hips, buttocks & legs. Most common cause of sciatica is herniated disc(complicating to spinal stenosis).

Get physically examined & evaluated, get Imaging tests done. In the meantime do Stretch exercises, take NSAIDS (Ibuprofen, Combiflam, Naproxen). Injections of Steroids in to the spine is effective. RA occurs due to autoimmune disorder, exercise is the best way to reduce the inflammation & joint stiffness.

Take vitamin E (Evion) for better lubrication. Visit an Orthopaedic surgeon for RA, Neurologist for Neuropathy (nerve dysfunction). Take Vitamin B1, B6, B12 with Folic acid & minerals.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
