Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain In The Neck With The History Of ACDF Surgery?
have had soreness in neck on both sides last couple of days. Had ACDF surgery in October of 2014, have been doing well. Sitting at table yesterday all of sudden felt some pain in my neck - frontal area down near collarbone, it goes & comes with movement. feel it more when my head is tilted down some.
Hi there, any number of issues could be causing the pain that you are reporting, but I find it concerning that you are having worse pain with movement of the neck, as that can indicate instability. I would recommend that you contact your surgeon immediately to let them know all of the symptoms you are experiencing, and based on his or her recommendations either schedule a follow up appointment with your surgeon soon or go seek emergent medical attention. The likely first step will be imaging, potentially even plain X rays just to look at the instrumentation in the neck. Best of luck to you. I hope my answer has been helpful to you.
