Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have pain in my right shoulder at times and my right arm has been painful from the shoulder to the elbow and especially when I lift my arm up and have to put any pressure on it , pain is to my elbow and is impossible to sleep on, this has been for the last three weeks. went to a doctor and they don t seem to know what is causing the pain.
In order to manage the pain you are feeling, we should determine the cause: - torn cartilage/rotator cuff : do you remember to have done any heavy physical activity prior to pain started? any sharp movement of the right arm? weighing heavy objects? - arthritis: have you done any lab test so far like x-ray of the shoulder and elbow joint? Any blood test for arthritis? - pinching nerve
If they did not find anything abnormal, then, you should: - rest your arm more - apply alternating heat and cold compresses locally - take oral analgesics - apply anti-inflammatory cream locally - physiotherapy
Hope this helps.
