What Causes Pain In The Upper Arm After Receiving A Cortisone Shot?
A few days ago I got a shot in my left shoulder for what the doc believes could be rotator cuff problems. I now have pain in upper arm. Sometimes my arm feels dead but that would even happen before the shot. I am still having pain. How long does it take for the cortisone shot to work?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
In most cases, the steroid shot starts to work within 3 to 5 days, rarely a week. If there is no relief at all by that time then it is possible that the effect may not be optimal for you. You may need to see your doctor again if you do not note any improvement.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
