What Causes Pain In The Upper Arm Upon Waking Up In A Diabetic Person?

I am a type 2 diabetic being treated with metform & insulin. For some time I have been experiencing muscular pain in my upper arm muscles on waking in the morning. This seems to quickly disappear once I start moving around & moving my arms, & I do not normally experience any further problems during the daytime. My sleep Is not normally disturbed by this arm pain.

Welcome to healthcaremagic.com. Sorry to hear about your arm pain. It is really hard to pin down what is going on, could you provide a brief medical history and medications you are taking and your age, think also about any other associated symptoms that can help us tie this together. By the sounds of it it is not diabetes related from what I can tell. If anything maybe osteoarthritis, but that would be joint pain and not muscular pain. We await your answer. Thanks
