What Causes Pain In The Upper Arm Upon Waking Up?

2 days ago, I woke up with pain on my upper left arm, very painful when I move my left arm. I tought I must slept in the wrong position. I took tylenol and put some hot patch. Today when I tried to lift my left arm, I saw bruising lines inside of my upper arm. Pain is not intense anymore. I wonder about the pain and the bruise.

Hello,

Because the pain is better and you are noticing some bruises very likely you have hurt the arm and sometimes we don't remember the trauma that caused the bruise. In this case just taking tylenol and trying to avoid future trauma might be enough and if you notice any worsening you will need to see your doctor.

If the bruise is in the inner area of the arm this is less likely to be from trauma and you will need to seek medical advise and probably have some blood tests to rule out problems with coagulation or other related blood issues.

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
