What Causes Pain In Throat While Swallowing Post Recovery From Strep Throat?
I had strep throat about 2 to 3 weeks ago took all my antibiotics as prescribed correctly and it cleared up and my brother caught it and recovered about 3 to 4 days ago now just today I've noticed my throat hurts a little when swallowing my saliva but before I noticed thst I had an extremely powerful sneeze and a cough which I'm wondering if it could have caused it I really don't want strep again especially as bad as I had it is it that like key thst it tells got strep again thst quickly I changed my tooth brush and everything as instructed by my doctor
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that if there is mild pain on swallowing and you had a vigorous sneezing and a bout of cough before it, then the most possible cause for the throat discomfort is due to it only and not infection as vigorous sneezing or coughing acts a s a traumatic injury to the throat mucosa and can injure it leading to pain on swallowing.. Nothing to worry as it will get resolved soon.. You can take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen.. Do warm saline gargles and suck throat lozenges.. Take a soft diet.. In case if still it does not resolve in 2 to 3 days then you need to consult an ENT expert and get checked for throat infection.. As of now it is not appearing to be infection..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
