What Causes Pain Near Shunt And Numbness In Right Side Of Body?

I am 43 year old female with spina bifida, cerebral palsy and a shunt. I am 4 foot 4 inches. The area around my shunt on my right side began hurting last Wednesday. It gets better when I lie down on my left side. Also when I turn my head to the left, it hurts more. What sent me to the ER Sunday was numbness on my right side - face, arm, leg. A neurologist reviewed a CT Scan that showed nothing. My numbness went away by evening and after some pain medicine. Now today, the numbness is back and a little worse. My questions: 1. What is likely causing the pain around the shunt?; 2. What is likely causing the numbness?
