What Causes Pain On The Neck And Face After Hitting On The Temporal Bone?
Someone hit me hard in my left temporal on May 19th between 7-9PM. It was swelling. It was gone the next day, but hurt when I yawn or chewing. Then, I got pain radiating from my neck to below..It s weird. Also, there is a funny feeling around my left face. Now, my should in left side is painful. What is this?
Your symptoms could be related to the head trauma and local inflammation of the temporal muscles. It doesn't seem to be anything concerning. Coming to this point, I recommend taking ibuprofen for some days. Local ice packs can help. If your complaints persist, I recommend consulting with your dentist to examine your temporo-mandibulary joint and perform inflammation tests (complete blood count, PCR, sedimentation rate). A brain MRI would help exclude any other disorders.
