What Causes Pain Under The Arms Along With A Skin Rash?

I think I may be getting shingles. Had pain under arm for 2-3 days and yesterday I noticed a rash. Very painful at this point. Do not remember ever having chicken pox though. I am 64 years old. Am researching to see if this may be what I am experiencing.

Hi. painful vesicular lesions may be due to shingles. or herpes zoster. this is usually common in the elderly, and usually follows a string formation, on a particular area of skin supplied by a single spinal nerve or the dermatome. it is self limited. but could be debilitating because of the pain.
