Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain While Eating, No Bowel Movement When On Pancreatitis Treatment?
Have had a colostomy back in September and reversal in January. I. Was just hospitalized last week due to pancreatitis and abdominal pain. I was sent home on a soft diet and to take Miramax. It s been almost a week it s hurts to eat I m bloated and have not had a good bowel movement.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history of colostomy and reversal also in Jan. Developed pancreatitis and got discharged on soft diet and mirax. Now there is pain in abdsituation: ated and unable to have complete evacuation. All the history you have mentioned indicates that there may be a complication of pancreatitis namely intestinal obstruction or pseudocyst of pancreas and so on. I would advice you the following in such a situation: Get an ultrasound of abdomen and CT scan to confirm what the problem is and to have proper treatment as needed.
