What Causes Painful Bumps On Body After Going In The Water?
Hello, Every time I go into lake or river water, I get about 2 bumps that look like pimples in different areas. It hurts to walk and it tends to tighten to muscles when at rest. The only thing that alleviates the pressure is popping them, which I know I should not do. Do you have any idea what this is? I m going back on a wilderness trip so any help would be great.
It could be hot tub folliculitis and also you are having history of using water.
As you have this red bumps over various parts of body,it may require systemic antibiotics (ciprofloxacin orally) with analgesics (diclofenac) and antihistamines (benadryl) to get rid off completely.
Mostly, this folliculitis do not require any specific treatment and may get subsided within 1 to 2 weeks but in your case, you are already having those bumps since few days or have exacerbated this bumps.
So,I would be better that you should see some experienced local doctor or dermatologist who can prescribe you appropriate antibiotic with symptomatic treatment as I said above.
Hope this information will help you.
