My boyfriend is 54 yrs old and having symptoms of feeling tired, and overall not feeling well. His joints are achy and he s constantly clearing his throat. We ve tried allergy medicine at his doctor s recommendation for the last two weeks. He doesn t seem to have the energy to do much of anything. He is terrified to go to the doctor because he s scared something is seriously wrong..Any suggestions??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Painful joints are commonly observed in arthritis patients. Tiredness can be due to vitamin, iron or protein deficiency. I suggest you seek medical help by visiting a rheumatologist who will examine him and depending on his medical history and current symptoms, the doctor might ask to get some diagnostic tests done.

Depending on the results and clinical assessment, a diagnosis will be made and appropriate treatment will be provided.

Hope it helps. Feel free to contact for any further queries in the future.
