Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Painful Menstruation With Heavy Bleeding While On Combipatch?
I have been on the Combipatch for 3 weeks now. Yesterday, I started spotting so I took the patch off. Today, I am having a full period. My doctor said to reapply the patch. I did that this morning but am now having VERY painful period. What can I do to help the pain?
Combipatch commonly causes symptoms like bloating, stomach cramps, vaginal bleeding or spotting, etc., once the system gets adjusted these side effects disappear by themselves.
Serious symptoms like unusual vaginal bleeding or formation of clots, increased blood pressure or symptoms of heart attack should be immediately reported to the treating doctor as the patch needs to be removed.
If re-application of the patch is causing you to bleed heavily with cramps & you are in discomfort, remove the patch & inform your doctor so that you can be re-examined & evaluated so that you may get some better alternative.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thank you.
Regards,
