Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband is experiencing a painful "pressure" behind his belly button. There is no discoloration nor protrusions as if it were a hernia. He seems to think it's "leaking"? He does have a very small amount of yellowish discharge deep in there. We cleaned it out with a Q-tip last night and it's there again this morning. He's scared to death and thinking the pressure is getting worse.
This issue is likely to be umbilical sepsis through some sort of bacterial infection. Needs regular cleaning of the umbilicus with antiseptic liquid, application of antibacterial dusting powder, antibiotics to cover up the infection.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
