It started with a sore throat on my left side with pain when swallowing. I took daytime acetaminophen thinking that it was cold symptoms. The acetaminophen reduced the pain and symptoms to where there wasn t any. I took 2 pills twice throughout the day. As it got later in the evening my symptoms returned along with pain behind my last molar on the left side of my lower jaw so I took menthol cough drops to help with the pain before falling asleep. The pain persisted and increased, but I was able to fall asleep. I have now awoken at 4am with major swelling behind my molars, the roof of my mouth on my left side has a numb pain, and the sore throat is the same as it was before I took any acetaminophen. I just took 5 200mg pills of ibuprofen for the pain from the swelling. Not sure what else to do at this point.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have painful sore throat while swallowing and pain on left lower jaw and molar area which seems to be due to eustachian tube dysfunction/ chronic upper respiratory tract infection due to which negative pressure build up. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take nasal sprays and do warm saline gargles. You should take antibiotic Levofloxacin in combination with antiallergic medication such as Levocetirizine. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should get paranasal sinus x-ray done and start treatment after proper diagnosis. Avoid oily and sharp food. Drink plenty of fluids.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
