Psychiatrist 's  Response
It is more likely to be a normal physiological phenomenon. When one eats, more blood supply is needed for stomach and alimentary canal. This requires the heart to pump more blood. When heart starts pumping more blood, the heart rate increases. This in turn may be felt (palpitations). Anxiety may lead to increased alertness.
Next time, if you have palpitations, don't go to doctor.
If you feel anxious and if it affects your work or quality of life, you may see a psychiatrist.
I hope this answers your question.
