Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain as you are diagnosed with
Perioral Dermatitis and you have stopped using certain factors that can induce it like fluoridated toothpaste you should also completely stop using any kind of steroid based creams/ointments as they are one of the most potent cause for flaring up Perioral Dermatitis..
It can be caused due to disturbances in microbial flora over the skin, bacterial infection, nasal and topical steroids, flouridated toothpastes, harsh chemical cosmetics, poor facial hygiene, hormonal imbalances etc..
I would suggest you to
consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated and he can do a thorough clinical evaluation and advise you to apply topically ointments containing Doxycycline,
Metronidazole..
You can also be advised oral intake of
erythromycin..
Ointments containing Azaelic acid,
Pimecrolimus etc can help..
Avoid any skin cosmetic or steroid ointments..
Avoid excess sun exposure, use gel based sunscreen lotion..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.
