What Causes Persistent Abdominal Bloating And Pain?

Hi, what ever food I seem to eat I end up with a bloated tummy, terrific pain mainly on my left hand side low in my tummy. It feel s like trapped wind. Im having problems sleeping because of the pain. I the morning my body will release gas which only then pain will ease off. I ve tried a couple of days just eating cornflake s with milk, swelling goes down and pain will stop! This is ruining my life. Can you please advise. Thanks
