What Causes Persistent Back Pain When Diagnosed With Pulmonary Tuberculosis?

Hi! I was diagnosed of minimal PTB last year so I take medication for 6 months and had an x-ray to see if am cured. The x-ray state that I still have but its fading so my doctor extend my medication for 1 months. After 7 months or taking med I felt ok even after I was diagnosed of having PTB. I don t have cough but there s still mucus or sputum that keep on coming out sometimes. And I also felt back pain is there a chance that my Minimal PTB is active again. Is there any other way of knowing aside from x-ray ? Thank you !!

Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

Although Backpain could be simple manifestation of ongoing pulmonary tuberculosis but I feel you need to get evaluated for spinal or bone tuberculosis. It is common for TB bacteria to disseminate to adjacent areas and it is possible that they have affected spine along with lungs.

In case it comes out negative you can continue with your treatment as advised by your doctor.

I hope this helps you.
Thanks and regards.
