What Causes Persistent Constipation, Right-sided Stomach Cramps And Pain Radiating Into Back?

I have a history of constipation. Yesterday I began to have stomach cramps on my right side and pain radiating into my back. that was at bed time. I took 2 Tylenol and went to sleep, but I woke up today and my situation is the same. I have taken a laxative and nothing happened. I tool an enima a half hour ago....nothing has changed. Should I get to a emergency room.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, I understand your concern.
You are suffering from constipation with severe abdominal pain. Even after taking laxative and enema, your condition is no better. My advice is you should hospital get your Abdominal Xray and Abdominal Ultrasonography done. There must be some spastic contraction at illeoceacal junction or at large intestine. Accordingly your management can be planned.
Meanwhile you can take antacids like Cap Omeprazole once daily for 5 days and Tab Meftalspas twice daily to relieve pain.
But you should first visit the surgeon. Hope this will help you.
