What Causes Persistent Cough, Chest Pain, Headache And Breathing Difficulty?

I have had a bad cough for over two weeks now. I have been coughing up mucus for about a week but the cough won t go away. I have coughing fits that make it hard for me to breathe and it gives me chest pain. I ve also been having headaches and feeling congested. I originally thought it was a cold, I am not as fatigued but the cough is still terrible. Is this a type of pneumonia?

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Sorry to hear you have been struggling with cough for some time now.
Your symptoms could be caused by a lung infection like Pneumonia, bronchitis, TB, ...I will suggest you see the Doctor for examination and investigations.Tests that may help identify the cause of your sympotoms may include a chest x ray, sputum exam, full blood count and ESR.From the results of the tests, treatment may be planned. In the meantime, i will suggest you try the following:
-Take a mucolytic like carbocysteine 5% to facilatate expectaroation
-An anti-histamine like loratadine
-A steroid like dexamethasone
If any arguments in favour of a bacteria infection, your Doctor may prescribe antibiotics.
Hope this will help
WIsh you good health
