What Causes Persistent Elevation In BP Levels Despite Taking Hydrochlorothiazide?
Recently my doctor increased my hydrochlorothiazide to 25mg from 12.5mg due to blood pressure being too high. Average sys 155 dia 75. He said because of my triple by-pass it should be below 120. It has been 21 days since increase and blood pressure still high. Should I be concerned?

Regarding your inappropriate increase in blood pressure despite the triple bypass surgery i am suggesting you have the following differential diagnosis
Intraocular hypertension
Renal artery stenosis
Portal hypertension
In view of this please do the following test
Fundoscopy
Renal function test
Liver function test
Meanwhile see your cardiologist specialist with the results and for further expect clinical assessment and adequate drug prescription
Perhaps you will need a antihypertensive in addition to the hydrochlorothiazide
