What Causes Persistent Heaviness Of Head And Sleeping Disorder?
iam suffering from persistent heaviness of the head for 4 years..mri shows normal.plz any one suggest me what could be my problem related to..is it psychological or neurological problem..iam also expierancing sleep problems like hard to fall asleep ang hard to wake up after falling asleep before 12 hours,Irregular sleep times.heaviness is little bit more when there is a lack of sleep..
Going by what you have mentioned, it is likely that you might be having sleep disturbance and heaviness of head due to psychological issues. Although your MRI is normal, I still would want a thyroid function test and complete blood counts in addition to an ophthalmology evaluation. It is probable that you might be having heaviness due to stress or depression. If the reports come out to be within normal limits, I would consider starting you on a sedating antidepressant like a tricyclic antidepressant (your age and cardiovascular status permitting).
In addition, I would also advise you to follow sleep hygiene measures like fixed sleeping and waking up time, avoiding day time naps, avoiding tea/coffee,etc. You should seek a psychiatric consultation for the needful.
Hope this information was helpful. Best wishes.
