What Causes Persistent Left Sided Pain In Neck And Chest?
Hello, I have been feeling a dull aching pain in my lower left neck the last 4-5 months. This past week I woke up one morning with a pain in my lower left chest (right at the end of my rib cage) that would build up while sitting during the day and would subside after walking, making it difficult to breathe. I am 22 years old, 5 feet 8 inches, and have smoked for the last 3-4 years.
Dear Customer , This is Dr. S. Tomar from healthcaremagic.com's medical team and I ll be your medical advisor for this question. First of all thank you for sharing your concern with us and showing trust on us. If the pain is persisting , recurrent then it should be evaluated further to know the exact cause of it which will decide further treatment . Pain in this area can be because of pleural inflammation , effusion or any other pumonary issue . Pain in neck also may be due to lymphadenopathy which should be inspected and palpated . Chest x ray , CBC should be ordered to make a definitive diagnosis . Any persistent pain should be taken seriously and I would recommend you to consult this issue further with your GP and get needed test done straightaway.
This is my initial response and discussion is open until you have any query or need further clarification. I wish you good health . Thank you for your question and feel free to contact further for any question . sincerely, Dr. Shardendu Tomar
