Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Persistent Pain In The Shoulders After A Tetany Attack?
My wife experienced a Tetany attack in early October. It affected her arms and hands. She has had a continuing pain in her shoulders since the attack. Her meds have been balanced but the pain is still present and very uncomfortable. It gets worse while laying in a prone position but slightly lessens during a days activities. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you.
I am of the opinion that the root cause of tetanus either it was hyperparathyroidism or hypercalcemia or any other relevant information should be given in your question. Till then blood reports for the same should be done and painkillers prescribed. You should consult a local physiotherapist too for exercises for shoulder joint. It will definitely help.
Hope this clarifies your concerns. Thank you for the query.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Ashish Ranjan, General & Family Physician
