What Causes Persistent Painful Muscle Cramps Throughout Body?
yes i am having muscle cramps in my sleep and while awake. they are every where and very painful. i have them in my feet ,ankles, hands, inner thighs, ribcage calves and it feels like within me where there are other i can t name. i am very frightened when it occurs. can you help me?
The muscle cramps tend to occur in many persons particularly as one grows older and also has certain chronic conditions such as diabetes, vitamin deficiencies (B12, Vitamin D and Calcium and many other causes. Since there is no information given on the age and whether there is any other condition present such a diabetes it is difficult to comment or give specific suggestions.
Still you may take drugs like Vitamin D3 sachets 1 every week for about 8 weeks, Calcium tablets daily and Methylcobalamine 500 mcg tablets daily. These can help reduce the cramps. If any specific condition as diabetes is present then it needs to be strictly under control. Please get your D3 and B12 as well as calcium levels estimated to see if there is any deficiency.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Prabhakar Laxman Jathar, Diabetologist
