Hi! A few months ago had tests as had indigestion symptoms and soreness below lower ribs. Had lots of tests including ultrasound, CT scan and gastroscopy. Told I have a very small hiatus hernia. still got pain under ribs which goes off when I lie down at night. Sometimes it's sore and sometimes it feels like stitch ,sometimes on left side sometimes right side sometimes both sides Am on omeprazole but don't get usual symptoms of hiatus hernia like reflux etc. sometimes it feels as if it's muscular but have had it fo months with occasional breaks. Any ideas?
All the symptoms that you have noted looks to be either due to colitis or costochondritis with muscular component also. Hence I would advise you the following in such a situation: -Get a clinical evaluation again by your doctor and discuss with him the above-mentioned things to get a proper clinical examination and relevant additional investigations as rest of the investigations that you have mentioned are normal. -Take appropriate management in the form of antispasmodic if it is colitis, get stool tests and colonoscopy for confirmation. -Anti-inflammatory medications with painkiller property like Ibuprofen can help for the costochondritis. -Proper diagnosis alone can give specific management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T Chandrakant
