What Causes Persistent Tiredness Despite Taking Levothyroxine?

A little more than a week ago; my doctor found low active thyroid condition. I was started on Levothyroxine 50 MCG tablet/day. I am 72 and have been noticing tiredness and low energy. I really haven t notice an improvement; so wondering if I should check back with my doctor about my dosage. I don t have another appointment scheduled for 2.5 month.

Hello,

Pretty much everything might. Thyroid hormones certainly have to be titrated and if the level is mid normal that doesn't necessarily mean that slightly more or even slightly LESS might change how someone feels.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
