What Causes Persistent Vaginal Spotting After Having Intercourse?
Hi. My girl had a septate hymen and it broke while we were having sex. There was a bleeding at first and a thread of skin came out. Its been more than one day now and shes been bleeding very little even now. And again a thread of skin came out. What does it mean ?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Bleeding is common after rupture of hymen during intercourse. The amount and duration of bleeding depends on degree of soft tissue injury caused. Since, your partner had a septate hymen, the skin coming out could be due to bits of hymen, however, this is a very rare possibility. The bleeding should stop shortly. Once the bleeding stops there is nothing to worry. If the bleeding continues for long, please consult your primary healthcare provider for measures to examine the local site and manage soft tissue injury if any.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
