Hello Doctor, I am a 37 year old female of normal weight for my height. I currently take microgynon 30. Each month at my period break week I experience a pimple around my eye. Sometimes it is in the corner of my outer eye by the lateral canthus, sometimes it is located on the upper hooded area of the eyelid just abovethe eyelid crease. They do not appear to be a stye as they are not located near base of eyelashes; nor do I believe it to be a chalazion as it is above the eyelid crease. They usually last around 2 or 3 days and do not cause any vision disruption. I am aware of the pimple which is pinhead size with some surrounding redness, but it is not painful. I am very careful with eye hygiene. I do not experience crusty eyelids. What could be causing this to occur? Thank you.
Hello It seems from the history that you are having small pimple like lesions involving the skin of the eye lids and skin around the eyes. Since that won't resemble like stye or chalazion and since they are self limiting with complete resolution by 3 days these may indicate molluscum contagiousm or Emilia and these are viral infections. Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for confirmation of diagnosis and treatment accordingly.
Thank you
