Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pinprick On Left Leg During Ultrasound?
During ultrasound of left leg I felt a pinprick at few places. What could be the cause? The doctor while doing the process stated used words like lymph nodes etc. I had suffered from DVT many years back and had gone for the process since I have to get my gallbladder operated for stones
These 'pin prick' like sensation are abnormal sensations called paresthesia. They are part of neuropathy associated with DVT or many other diseases. During the process of doing an USG, the touch of the applicator and gel can produce this sensation. Before taking you up for gall bladder surgery, I am sure you will be thoroughly investigated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nirmal Chander Gupta, Orthopaedic Surgeon
