What Causes Poor Memory After Recovering From Lung Cancer?

I am a 55 year old female. I am a lung cancer survivor. clean CT Scans for one and a half years. I have been extremely forgetful, blanking on trying to remember words when in conversation with family and friends. Should I be concerned or is this just normal for my age.

Hello,

Thank you for your query. I understand your concerns.

Becoming “extremely” forgetful is not normal at your age. People around your age tend to forget few things but not to an extent so as to cause them alarm.

I would advise you to see a psychiatrist. He would evaluate further and conduct memory tests on you. He would also request for some basic blood tests and a CT Brain too.

If the tests and CT scan do not come as normal, your doctor will be able to manage your condition appropriately,

I hope this answer has been helpful to you.
