What Causes Poor Memory And Confusion While Suffering From Anxiety And Depression?

Hi, I don t know when I should consult a doctor for mental issues I ve been dealing with. I am diagnosed biploar w/anxiety, depression and panic attacks with occasional insomnia. Have been dealing with that diagnosis since early 2000 s. Lately I ve noticed several memory problems, trouble confusing words in day to day conversations, stumbling and stammering to find the right words. It s like my mind knows what I mean however I say something totally wrong and off the wall.

Hi,

In anxiety and depression, a person is engaged in some issue or thought and as such he is not able to concentrate on other things. It is because of this process he develops a kind of loss of memory, confusion etc.

Another cause is, a depressed person feels weak, lack of energy and fatigue, so he is not able to concentrate. However, this is not permanent. As soon as he gets healthy all his concentration and energy is regained back. Overall there is a short-term memory loss, not a long-term loss.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
