What Causes Positive Pregnancy Test Result Even After Abortion?
i had a medical abortion 4 weeks and 4 days ago i bleed for about 10 days and i passed several blood clots, i saw a grayish matter pass as well which i assumed to be the embryo, i am still testing postive on pregnancy test and have had no period yet. When will things go back to normal?
It can take up to 8 weeks for a pregnant uterus to get back to normal size and function. This also depends on how advanced the pregnancy was when you got the abortion done. Looking at the symptoms thus far and that the pregnancy test, I think the uterus is still returning back to regular size.
Also, I would not be worried if your periods skip for 1 or 2 cycles. This is because the hormone values are likely deranged and will take time to get back to normal and then you will start getting periods regularly.
If you start getting pain and heavy bleeding, then you should get checked by a Gynecologist. In this case, there is a chance that you have a infection or incomplete abortion.
Hope this helps you. All the best. Dr Vignan
