Hi i am 35 ,had post coital bleeding on 5th day of my cycle...though i thought menstruation is over!is it something to worry about or is it mensturation?this is the first time ever i had intercouse on5th dayNormally i get bleeding from 1-4 days then a break of a day or two then a spotying like bleeding on 6 day then periods end.Help me out as am worried if its mensturation or something abnormal going on. Thanks.
Hello and welcome to HCM, You will have to spot out whether the bleeding is post-coital or menstrual. There are various causes of post-coital bleeding. Common ones are: 1. cervical lesions- cervical erosion, cervical ectropion, polyp, cervical cancer or pre-neoplastic conditions 2. Endometrial lesions- polyp, hyperplasia, cancerous growth 3. vaginal lesions- infection/inflammation
You need to consult your gynecologist for clinical assessment and relevant investigations like endometrial curettings, cervical curettings, etc. The management can be planned after results of the investigations is obtained.
