What Causes Pregnancy Like Symptoms When On Depo Shots?
hi I have been on the injection for the last 6 months and have not missed any of my shots. I have been on depo for the last 5 months and changed to nur isterate and been on it the last month but I have been feeling weird and getting pregnancy symptoms.I feel nauseas often and have diarrhea, headaches and feel tired..is it possible that I can be pregnant?
Since you have been getting your shots as prescribed, it is extremely unlikely that you are pregnant. You can take a urine pregnancy test just for reassurance, but the shots work very well to prevent pregnancy. Although the symptoms you describe can be related to pregnancy, there are numerous other possible causes as well. The Depo itself can sometimes cause bloating, and maybe some of the other symptoms, but as you have been on the shot for six months, it is strange that you should suddenly start feeling the side effects of the medicine now six months after you started it. It may be something else as well, and if it continues, you should see your doctor about it. You can always stop the Depo and switch to a different birth control as well, and then you will know for sure if it was the depo. I hope this helps, please let me know if have any more questions.
