What Causes Pressure Behind The Eyes After Receving A Cortisone Shot?

I had a cortisone shot in my shoulder and within 30 mins I could feel the effects of the med in my bicep and a feeling of the medicine move up into my neck and into the back of my head. When it reached my head it felt as if someone smacked me in the back of the head with a 2x4 and the pressure behind my eyes was so intense I could barely drive the rest of the way home. I get occasional migraines but it was worse than that and I felt nauseous. No vomiting. Tried to go to work but had to leave b/c my Midrin and Zofran were not helping or touching at all. Scheduled to have another injection on 28th and really not wanting to.
