What Causes Pressure In Sternum Along With Chronic Constipation?

I have been having a lot of pressure in the sturnum area, with chronic constipation, and now have been having episodes of difficulty swallowing all of a sudden. It doesn t feel like my throat is swelling but rather my swallowing mechanism quits working. My abdomen is very bloated up high which is different because i have always had a flat stomach. Continued discomfort and anxious with the swallowing episodes.

Problem in swallowing with pressure on sternum can be seen in different conditions as follows:
1. zenker's diverticulum
2. GERD
3.esophageal motility disorders
4. achalasia
5.esophageal tumor
6. esophagitis
I strongly advise you to get the upper endoscopy done straight away to rule out any serious issue and to know the exact cause of such symptoms. For constipation you should increase fiber content in your diet .
Consult this issue further with gastroenterologist and get mentioned test done .
