What Causes Profuse Sweating Along With Fatigue And Light Headedness?
I m 52, female, 128 lbs, great health. Have IBS w/constipation. Have about 2 events per year with IBS attacks where I cramp and am on toilet with the runs. What horrible is a sweat profusely, get weak, light headed and feel like I ll pass out. As soon as I get rid of it, I slowly start to feel better. Why do I sweat and get so weak ... is it my body reacting to the event? Just want to see if it s a heart issue as well. Thx
There are quite a lot of possibilities. Starting with what you actually have--IBS and age and gender--any stimulation of the gut can provoke a reflex lowering of the heart rate (VASO VAGAL REACTION) this then lowers blood pressure and someone feels faint and sweaty. There can be a lot of reaction during a menopausal hot flash. In this context, the pulse usually goes up. THen, there's just a lot of other possibilities with heart being one of them, panic attack (unlikely) infection, drug reaction (unlikely), anything that causes dehydration and many others.
