Hi,

Acebutolol is used to lower blood pressure and prevent arrhythmias of heart. Some of the episodic symptoms of your father seem due to his heart disease. Also, at times this may be due to somewhat high doses of Acebutolol, that his blood pressure drops. You may titrate his dose of Acebutolol according to his blood pressure readings.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
