Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Profuse Sweating And Intense Shaking And Low Blood Pressure?
My father is a 75 y.o. male who tells me he feels weak, like he is shaking on the inside and is sweating profusely at various times. He has had his thyroid removed, take levothyroxine 125 mg daily and has recently been tested. He also has a condition with his heart where his blood pressure drops suddenly and he passes out. I cannot remember the exact diagnosis, but he is taking acebutolol 200 mg daily. I am concerned that he is having a t.i.a.
Acebutolol is used to lower blood pressure and prevent arrhythmias of heart. Some of the episodic symptoms of your father seem due to his heart disease. Also, at times this may be due to somewhat high doses of Acebutolol, that his blood pressure drops. You may titrate his dose of Acebutolol according to his blood pressure readings.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
