What Causes Prolonged Aching Joints, Jittery Feeling And Depression?
brother-in-law got off pain meds years ago. I don t know the specific med. Has many underlying health issues. Is NOT abusing pain meds as I control them. Every night still gets jitters, aching joints and assorted misery. Takes Tizanizane 4 mg. 8 per day. What is going on?
Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries
I can understand your concern. A lot of pain medicines consists of Opioids like Oxycodone and Hydrocodone. These medicines are known to cause dependence and produce tolerance. If he was taking these medicines then these could be long term withdrawal effects of opioids. Also called a protracted withdrawal the withdrawal can be seen many years after stopping the drug. If the pains in joints is intolerable then there is need to consult a good psychiatrist for proper opinion. For pain some times low doses of Tramadol can help. Give him the drugs as per prescription only.
Thanks, Hope this helps. Take care
