What Causes Prolonged Heavy Menstruation Despite Taking Primolut N?

Hi, I had a heavy period for 20 days and doctor has prescribed me Cyklokapron 500mg(2 tables for 3 times a day which is 6 tablets a day). But the bleeding never reduced but increased. Then she prescribed me with Primolut N 1tablet 3 times a day and i took this for 4 days and finally my bleeding completely stopped. Please note I have undergone blood test, Pelvic scan and pregnancy test(which is negative) and my blood test and scan is normal with litlle less Iron because of heavy bleeding this month. Now after stopping the entire course of tablet for 3 days, I have started bleeding again. Can you please advise if this could be my normal regular periods or what should be done. Thanks a lot for your time in advance.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to hcm,
You have polymenorrhagia. As your all investigation are within normal limits probably you could be having dysfunctional uterine bleeding, which is one of the most common cause of polymenorrhagia. There won't be any pathology for the bleeding. If the bleeding is continuing and not responding to hormonal therapy then you can go for curretings and as a last measure hysterectomy.

Thank you
