What Causes Prolonged Menstrual Bleeding After Taking A Depo Shot?

Hi I just recently got on birth control through the drop shot and I m having changes in my period. It s lasting longer than usual and the smell from my tampons is much worse. It s almost unbearable. I m also having irregular leakage. Are these direct symptoms from the birth control or is it something else?

Hi, I think it can be a side effect of depo, but better to rule out infection also. It can be due to some vaginal infection also. Get a pelvic examination done by a gynecologist.. You may need some antibiotic and antifungal drugs orally as well as vaginal to treat that. Hope it helps.
