What Causes Prolonged Menstrual Bleeding?
I am a 47 year old woman who has been menstrating for 11 days now , I had a break in the bleeding for ten days . prior to the break I went for 11 days of none stop bleeding . My questions is is this serious and what may be the cause of this . i am in excellent health and fitness. before this my periods were 3 days regular and two very mild. I am also anemic and having serious back achs with the menstrating . Any suggestions for some relief would be much appreciated . Sincerly Michelle

as you are 47 years old , this irregular bleeding may be an early sign of menopause. but there is a small chance , this irregular bleeeding due to some serious pathology in your reproductive tract. so please consult a VOG . he will do ultra sound scan. will arrange pv examination . may also arrange a surgical procedure to dilatate your cervix and take curretings to for send histology. if ultra sound and histology normal , then you dont have to worry because it is suggestive of dysfunctional uterine bleeding.
