Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been on my period for 41 days now. This has never happened. On day 18 of my period I went to my normal obgyn to do a papsmear and for my cyst on ovaries. This is my 2nd round of cyst on both ovaries. I found out by the hospital and they told me that they were large. I told my doctor everything that they told me. While he was doing my pap smear it hurt when he did the swab thing. It hasn t ever hurt before. I m starting to have pain after sex and when I bathe myself. It stings bad. I m having pain in my lower back, thighs, and pelvic area. I have been to 2 Dr s about this and told them I have had complications and surgery on my past cyst. No one seems to want to do a sonogram it s like if they don t feel it by pelvic exam it s not there. I don t know what to do.
As a first line management, you can take drugs like tranexamic acid for symptomatic relief. If symptoms persist you can consult a gynaecologist and get evaluated.
