My husband (82) has a severe reaction to Bendamustine chemo treatment. his whole body from top of his head to his toes itch day and night. Have tried from doctor 25mg steroid for 5 days, 2x5mg steroid for 3 weeks, various antihystemines, a variety of creams and lotions, nothing has made the slightest difference. Only a flannel soaked in cold water has any effect which lasts a couple of hours. Have just heard of PUVA what do you think? Thank you Janet Brannon
Many times chemotherapy-induced itching is difficult to manage. Yes, Puva is the option we try in those cases. But it can be given or not only be determined by your dermatologist. So please visit a dermatologist for management.
